I just did F1 on "Start later in background" and following is the information

If you select this field, the request IDoc is send in a background process.
Dependencies
You can schedule the process start using the usual functionality for background processes. Choose Scheduling options. Alternatively choose Gantt diagram (plan table) to schedule the start of the process.
However, sending the data to BI and processing in BI takes place in dialog processes."
so its clear that processing will take place in dialog.
2. As i mentioned earlier, I am loading the data into "BI STATS CUBE" users dont have access to stats queries. When users runs the report, RSDDSTAT* tables gets populated depending on navigation on queries. So my question was when extracting the data from RSDDSTAT tables to stats cubes. Will there be lock on the table? the reason y i am asking this question is when report is excuted by user, log entries gets created on rsddstat tables and same time i am tring to extract data into cubes.
One more thing is that if i run the infopackages in process chains, will they run in bgd process or dial?
